Batch distillation systems are extremely flexible in nature. A single unit can be designed to handle wide variety of feed mixtures. It is also possible to handle multi component feed mixtures in the same column. Feed containing residues, having tendency to foam can be handled with ease if particular attention is paid during design. Addition of a phase splitter/ Decanter allows complete drying of solvent mixtures forming Azeotropes like water-Ethanol/IPA etc. In case of aqueous systems option of direct steam injection can offer several benefits. Operating batch column in semi batch mode or inverted batch fashion can be useful in several situations since it overcomes the disadvantage of batch column of having no stripping section.
We offer some unique equipments’ useful to batch distillation units. They include Internal Condensers directly mounted on column tops, Efficient Kettles without agitator, Phase splitter with very low hold up, Falling film product cooler cum condenser and automatic reflux splitter. These components when used in conjunction with efficient structured packing that we supply through our business associates result in to several advantages like: extremely low liquid hold ups, giving sharper cuts or lower intermediate cuts while distilling multi component mixtures, quick start ups, lower solvent losses due to operational disturbances, lowering the malfunctioning of system, and ultimately in lower pay back periods. A batch distillation is simple to control as there is no need to balance the feed and draw. Nevertheless the batch unit has unique requirements of instrumentation and control. We understand these and supply total PLC based instrumentation package.

Vacuum distillation is a method of distillation whereby the pressure above the liquid mixture to be distilled is reduced to less than its vapor pressure (usually less than atmospheric pressure) causing evaporation of the most volatile liquid(s) (those with the lowest boiling points).This distillation method works on the principle that boiling occurs when the vapor pressure of a liquid exceeds the ambient pressure. Vacuum distillation is used with or without heating the mixture.
Dividing wall columns can be used wherever multi-component mixtures have to be separated into pure fractions. They are particularly suited to obtain pure medium boiling fractions. The separation of a three component mixture into its pure fractions in conventional systems requires a sequential system with at least two columns or main columns with side columns. With a dividing wall column this task can be solved in only one apparatus.

We can supply skid mounted batch, continuous pilot distillation units in several materials up to 5000-liter capacity. We can also supply individual equipments if so desired. Structured, Lab packings are ideally suited to batch distillation columns because of their higher efficiencies and lower liquid hold up/ pressure drops. We can supply packed columns with quality, structured packings complete with associated internals.
Liquid-liquid-extraction is a separation technology that is based on the distribution of one or more components between two immiscible or almost immiscible liquids and is one of the most important separation/purification techniques widely used in process industries. Extraction finds it is most suitable application when the material to be separated is non-volatile or heat sensitive and when it is not possible to separate by distillation or evaporation.

We can Design and/or supply complete absorption systems mounted on skids or otherwise. The equipments involved are wet scrubbers, ventury scrubbers, packed columns, blowers etc. The materials can be Stainless Steels, PP, FRP, HDPE etc.
We have so far supplied systems for the removal of ammonia, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and ammines and met the local regulatory norms.
The ventilation may involve simple replacement of stagnant air by means of fans or it can be a complex combination of several equipments that can even recover some chemicals.

Stripping is a physical separation process where one or more components are removed from a liquid stream by a vapor stream. In industrial applications the liquid and vapor streams can have co-current or countercurrent flows. Stripping is usually carried out in either a packed or tray column.

The excess methanol is recovered from the bio diesel, glycerine, and fatty matter, dried and reused in the two-step transesterification reaction.
Glycerine generated in the two-step trans-esterification reaction is recovered and neutralized. The crude glycerine contains greater than the maximum 0.01 percent salts allowed in technical grades and is less than 99 percent pure. The salts are formed from the reaction of the caustic and acid used in most trans-esterification processes. The salts are removed when the glycerine is distilled or refined to a technical grade or higher quality.
